God’s plan for your life is not the world’s roller-coaster — up one season, down the next. He intends you to always bear fruit, always grow, and always flourish, like a tree planted by water (Psalm 1) whose path shines brighter each day (Proverbs 4:18).

So why does fruit sometimes decrease? Paul wrote Romans because the church that once flourished was producing less. The root cause is one: seeking righteousness and blessing by works instead of standing in Christ’s obedience (Romans 5:19).

This sermon walks through how to bear fruit for God in practical terms:

  • Walk in the Spirit, not the flesh (Romans 8:6; 1 John 1:6–7)
  • Stay married to Christ, not the law — mixing grace with law is spiritual adultery (Romans 7:2–6)
  • Refuse lukewarm faith (Revelation 3:16; Matthew 9:16–17)
  • Eat solid food — sonship, not slavery (Hebrews 5; Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:7)
  • Receive all things freely with Jesus (Romans 8:32; Ephesians 2:8–9)
  • Keep bearing even in Malachi years — lean seasons when others wilt (Malachi 3:11)

Three keys close the message: look to Jesus only, do not be lukewarm, and feed on the gospel as solid food. When your mind stays on the Spirit, fruit returns — steady, green, and for God.

Scripture focus: Psalm 1; Proverbs 4:18; Malachi 3:11; Romans 5:19, 7:2–6, 8:6, 32; Galatians 3:2–6; Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 John 1:6–7.
