31 എന്റെ കിന്നരനാദം വിലാപമായും എന്റെ കുഴലൂത്ത് കരച്ചിലായും തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

1 ബാബേൽനദികളുടെ തീരത്ത് ഞങ്ങൾ ഇരുന്നു, സീയോനെ ഓർമ്മിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ കരഞ്ഞു.

4 കരയുവാൻ ഒരു കാലം ചിരിക്കുവാൻ ഒരുകാലം; വിലപിക്കുവാൻ ഒരു കാലം, നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുവാൻ ഒരു കാലം;

4 എന്റെ ഹൃദയം പതറുന്നു; ഭീതി എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ കാംക്ഷിച്ച സന്ധ്യാസമയം അവിടുന്ന് എനിക്കു വിറയലാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.

12 അന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു കരച്ചിലിനും വിലാപത്തിനും മുണ്ഡനം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനും

7 പുതുവീഞ്ഞു ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; മുന്തിരിവള്ളി വാടുന്നു; സന്തുഷ്ടമാനസന്മാരെല്ലാം നെടുവീർപ്പിടുന്നു.

15 ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയസന്തോഷം ഇല്ലാതെയായി; ഞങ്ങളുടെ നൃത്തം വിലാപമായ്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

18 പിന്നെ രാജാവ് രാജധാനിയിൽ ചെന്ന് ഭക്ഷണം വെടിഞ്ഞ് രാത്രി കഴിച്ചു; അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വെപ്പാട്ടികളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നില്ല; ഉറക്കം അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.
