Zechariah 4 is one event with many angles. Earlier we saw waiting with expectation; now we see another angle: trusting God’s power instead of your own strength. When life feels like waiting with unmet expectations, this word shifts the foundation from self-effort to grace.

At first Zerubbabel’s mindset was “This is not easy.” God changed his speech: “Who are you, O great mountain?” He did not say God would finish it — he said Zerubbabel would bring the capstone. Zerubbabel claimed God’s authority as his own inheritance. The key word over the immovable mountain: “Grace, grace to it!”

3️⃣ Speak to Your Mountain — God’s Power, Not Yours
Stand before your mountain and declare: “This is God’s power — not my power.” Because Jesus died on the cross, the mountain-like inheritance in your life can change. Do not speak your strength; speak God’s power over sickness, delay, and every obstacle.

Elijah cried, “I alone am left.” Everyone else seemed gone. God’s answer: “I have reserved seven thousand who have not bowed to Baal.” Elijah trusted his own strength and works — but the seven thousand prophets leaned on God’s power. Romans 6 makes the contrast sharp: if it is by grace, it is no longer by works.

At ninety-nine, Abraham still had no child. Romans 4 says he did not consider his body dead or Sarah’s womb barren. For years he trusted his own strength — “I can get a child by my power.” Faith means leaning on God’s power, not flesh. When he did, his life transformed.

Isaiah prophesied that the LORD would bare His holy arm before all nations. The question remains: “To whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?” John 12 answers — it was fulfilled in Christ. Jesus is God’s power and God’s beloved. Trust Him and inherit easily.
