📖 God-Breathed Scripture — Wisdom From His Mouth
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NKJV)
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God… that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
The Greek word for inspiration is theopneustos — literally God-breathed. God formed man from dust, then breathed into him and man became a living soul. In the same way, Scripture carries God’s breath — and man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Many think this verse only means initial saving knowledge of Jesus — then done. No. The Greek word soteria is all-encompassing:

😌 The Relaxing, Healing Effect of the Word
Reading God’s Word has a cleansing and healing effect. The Hebrew root rapha means let go, relax. There is a therapeutic effect — you feel in touch with reality and truth. Even where the Bible records violence, there is beauty in how it all turns out. When you see God in it, you get hope and courage.

“There are three things which are too wonderful for me, yes, four which I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the air, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship in the midst of the sea, and the way of a man with a virgin.”
Solomon — whose wisdom excelled the wise men of the East — said he did not understand the fourth. A man with a thousand women could not mean this naturally. It must be spiritual. Here is the divine direction God opens from this passage:

✝️ The Eagle — Christ From Heaven Representing You
The eagle flies highest in the atmospheric heavens. The way of an eagle in the air is who Jesus is — He came down from the Father, planted in the virgin’s womb to become complete man. In heaven today He is someone He never was before: always divine, but now also man at the highest place in the universe.
1 John 4:17 (NKJV)
“As He is, so are we in this world.”
God wants you to think of Jesus as a man representing you. What He did at the cross the Father attributes to your account. God sees Him and sees you the same way.
🐍 The Serpent on the Rock — Look and Live
From eagle to serpent — from highest heaven to the ground. As Moses lifted the bronze serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up.
John 3:14–15 (NKJV)
“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Bronze means judged. Calvary sits on a rock precipice — the place of the skull. Whoever looked at the bronze serpent lived; whoever looked at their wound died. Look away from self to Christ — He is the answer to your sin, your sickness, and everything that has fallen.
🚢 The Ship in the Sea — Blessings to the Nations
A cargo ship traverses the ocean to a far country — loaded with containers of blessing. Jesus came from Bethlehem (house of bread) like David bringing bread before Goliath — loaded with grace and truth for His people. He conquered a greater Goliath at the cross.
In biblical symbolism: land = Israel; sea = Gentile nations (restless, roaring). The ship in the midst of the sea is why He came — to bring salvation to the nations.
💒 The Man With a Virgin — God’s Best-Kept Secret
1 Peter 1:12 (NKJV)
“Things which angels desire to look into…”
Marriage from the beginning pictures Christ and His bride. The man was put to sleep before the bride came from his side. Jesus died — and out of His side came the church, made of Jew and Gentile. This is God’s best-kept secret — prophets and saints of the Old Testament never fully knew it.

“This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
🧭 How to Judge Divine Direction — Is Christ in the Centre?
