• huper is a preposition
• huper means super in English
• perisseuo = overflow
• E.g.: Natural , Supernatural. Overflowing, Super overflowing

Romans 6:1-2

People with no revelation of Jesus asking

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound (pleonazo-increased)?² Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

• They didn’t use the same word
• They didn’t understand what Paul was saying
• They had no revelation of Jesus
• They didn’t listen to the message properly

• Grace is not an empowerment, but it produces the empowerment.
• How it produces empowerment ? By the revelation of the Gift of no condemnation. That empowers to sin no more

John 8:10-12

¹² Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not (ou – me : strong negative) walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

• shall not (ou – me : strong negative : Double Negative)
• YOU CANNOT WALK IN DARKNESS WHEN YOU ARE A DISCIPLE OF JESUS

 

• Matthew Mark Luke and John, Word Disciples (Singular and Plural ) used 200 times
• Book of John 10 Times
• Book of Acts 30 Times
• After Acts there was no mention of the word “Disciple” , because we became the sons and daughters of God

Note: New Covenant Only starts after the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Which means we can’t say Mathew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts are full of New Covenant, as it hasn’t been established until the end of those most chapters. And those books are mainly written for Jewish people, but of course we can learn from it.

Last time Disciple is used as “Old Disciple”

Once Father comes, we are no more disciples

Family of God

• In other words now we are in the Family of God

John 20:17

• we are not disciples like the Jewish people
• There is a demarcation very clear that now we are the sons and daughters of God

Now we are called,

Son of God or Servant of God ( Servant : Duolos in Greek  http://biblehub.com/greek/1401.htm )

• Only a Son can be a Glorious Servant
• Glory when the son becomes a servant
• A servant trying to be servant, there is no glory

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

• Once Father comes, we are no more disciples
• We are people that keep on learning for the rest of our lives
• We will always be the followers of Jesus

Already we satisfied of being a Disciple

• To carry the cross and to Follow Jesus
• Jewish tradition is that, those who carry cross are on the way to death
• Bible clearly says that “We are crucified with Christ”, we died with Christ and we are raised with Christ, which means, we have already carried the cross, died and raise.
  • That’s how we became a New Creation, the same moment when we Believed on Christ Jesus ( at the moment when we got saved )

Don’t go back to Old Covenant again

• John Mentions himself as the Disciple whom Jesus Loved
• John Understand Jesus love for Him
• John was the Disciple who was close with Jesus

• Peter could have asked Straight to Jesus
• Peter asked John to ask Jesus a question
• Peter –> John –> Jesus
• Shows that John understood Jesus love for Him

John

• Disciple whom Jesus Loved ( He called himself )
• He understands Jesus Love for Him
• That’s why John was able to find Jesus first

John 21:7

John 21:17-22

²⁰ Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” ²¹ Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?”

²² Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”

Good Leaders

• As long as we follow Jesus, we become very Good Leaders
