Turn Away from the Reproach

1 Samuel 17:28-30
World English Bible (WEB)

28 Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger burned against David, and he said, “Why have you come down? With whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride, and the naughtiness of your heart; for you have come down that you might see the battle.”

29 David said, “What have I now done? Is there not a cause?” 30 He turned away from him toward another, and spoke like that again; and the people answered him again the same way.

About 1 John 1

  • 1 John 1 was written to Gnostic Jews
    • Who don’t believe that Jesus came in Flesh
    • ( Believers, As an act of believing, they take part in Holy Communion showing that Jesus came in flesh )
  • 1 John 2 starts with my Little Children – That is the place John is addressing the Believers.
  • Even from the divine order of the bible we can clearly come to a conclusion that Peter, James and John’s letters should be read with extra understanding as it is talking to the Believers among the Jews
    • Divine order is that the Letter’s of Peter, James and John comes after the Letter’s of Paul and also it comes towards the end of the bible.
    • End of the bible spiritually implies, towards the end of the world, towards end days
    • From the order, Paul’s letters represents the time period of the Church. After the rapture of the Church, the Jews play a major role because they will go through the days of tribulation. That’s why the Letters of Peter, James and John are towards the end of the bible.
      • Start of the bible : Genesis : Beginning of the world
      • Middle of the Bible : Matthew, Mark, Luke, John : Birth of Jesus Christ : History gets divided

Walking in the Light

1 John 1:5-7
World English Bible (WEB)

This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

  • People used to think walking in light means doing bad deeds –> That is not this verse is saying
    • We are completely against doing bad deeds, but this verse is not saying about bad deeds
    • Consider, “walking in light” means doing good deeds(no sins), then why do you need blood to cleanse your sins ( when you don’t have any sins, because you are doing only good deeds 😉 )
  • Cleanses : Active Tense
    • Continuous cleansing
    • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frances_Ridley_Havergal unveiled this truth during her life time which empowered her
      • Without knowing this truth , despite she know all new Testament verses it brought her in to a bondage, of trying to work towards Gods favour and mercy, when she already had it in the first place and it doesn’t depends on your deeds. Its a Gift, not a reward. And His blood continuously cleanses.

John 8:9-12
World English Bible (WEB)

They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle. 10 Jesus, standing up, saw her and said, “Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?”

11 She said, “No one, Lord.”

Jesus said, Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.”

12 Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

For all your sins are forgiven

Hebrews 10:17-27
World English Bible (WEB)

17 I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. 19 Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 and having a great priest over God’s house, 22 let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water, 23 let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

24 Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching. 26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.

  • Fearful expectation of Judgement is default
  • So Hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering

Faith Language

Faith Language

Young’s Literal Translation’s Preface

The Hebrew Language has no Future Tense

..

  1. That the Hebrews were in the habit of using the past tense to express the certainty of an action taking place, even though the action might not really be performed for some time.
  2. That the Hebrews, in referring to events which might be either past or future, were accustomed to act on the principle of transferring themselves mentally to the period and place of the events themselves, and were not content with coldly viewing them as those of a bygone or still coming time; hence the very frequent use of the present tense.
