Reason why most of 70 Disciples left Jesus

Reason why most of 70 Disciples left Jesus
  • They thought they came to Jesus by their own effort ( by their own intelligence/wisdom) that Jesus it the Messiah, boasting on themselves and they didn’t like when Jesus said “no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of the Father“.
  • If you are with Jesus, the reason is because God drew you.
  • All of us saved because, God drew us.

John 6:65-69
American Standard Version (ASV)

65 And he said, For this cause have I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of the Father.

66 Upon this many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

67 Jesus said therefore unto the twelve, Would ye also go away?

68 Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

69 And we have believed and know that thou art the Holy One of God.

Hebrews 11:24-26
American Standard Version (ASV)

The king will give great riches to the man who kills him, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free(from tax) in Israel.”

26 David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done to the man who kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach(shame/condemnation) from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

27 The people answered him in this way, saying, “So shall it be done to the man who kills him.”

  • Naomi relocated outside Israel, resulting in the death of her husband and their two sons.
  • Ruth was married to Naomi’s son
  • Ruth said “Your God will be my God” to Naomi

Ruth 2:1-12
World English Bible (WEB)

Naomi had a relative of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name was Boaz (means “in him is power/strength”). Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Let me now go to the field, and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I find favor(confessing favor).”

She said to her, “Go, my daughter.” She went, and came and gleaned in the field after the reapers; and she happened (happenings happen to you when you trust God’s favour : from the root word “happ”, from that word other words like “happy” came from) to come to the portion of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.

Behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, “May Yahweh be with you.”

They answered him, “May Yahweh bless you.”

Then Boaz said to his servant who was set over the reapers, “Whose young lady is this?”

The servant who was set over the reapers answered, “It is the Moabite lady who came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab. She said, ‘Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.’ So she came, and has continued even from the morning until now, except that she rested a little in the house.”

Then Boaz said to Ruth, “Listen, my daughter. Don’t go to glean in another field, and don’t go from here, but stay here close to my maidens. Let your eyes be on the field that they reap, and go after them. Haven’t I commanded the young men not to touch you? When you are thirsty, go to the vessels, and drink from that which the young men have drawn.”

10 Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your sight, that you should take knowledge of me, since I am a foreigner?”

11 Boaz answered her, “I have been fully told about all that you have done to your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother, and the land of your birth, and have come to a people that you didn’t know before. 12 May Yahweh repay your work, and a full reward be given to you from Yahweh, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

  • But still God is behind the scenes.
  • The word “Jesus” is hidden in the book of Esther
    • Eg: First starts with “J” and then after 4 letters “E”, after 4 letters “S”, after 4 letters “U”, after 4 letters “S”.
      • Original words : “Yahweh”, “Elohim”
  • Haman, the right hand man of the King Agaserius ( King of Persia )  was an Amalekite
    • Amalekite’s are the people who were attaching the children’s and elders ( meek people ) who where walking behind when Moses brought people out of Israel.
    • God says ” He has always have a war with Amalekite”
    • This Haman didn’t like Mordecai, a Jew in captivity, much older than Ether (cousin of Esther) adopted Esther, and raised her has his own daughter.
      • Mordecai refuses to bow as other people because he is an Amalekite
    • Haman got permission to exterminate Jews

Esther 5:13-6:13
World English Bible (WEB)

13 Yet all this avails(worth) me nothing ( Bitterness towards Mordecai : bitterness not good), so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.”

14 Then Zeresh his wife and all his friends said to him, “Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak to the king about hanging(impale/crucify) Mordecai on it. Then go in merrily with the king to the banquet.” This pleased Haman, so he had the gallows made.

On that night ( God is always on time ), the king couldn’t sleep (events getting turned around in one sleepless night ). He commanded the book of records of the chronicles to be brought, and they were read to the king.It was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs, who were doorkeepers, who had tried to lay hands on the King Ahasuerus. The king said, “What honor and dignity has been given to Mordecai for this?”

Then the king’s servants who attended him said, “Nothing has been done for him.”

The king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had come into the outer court of the king’s house, to speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

The king’s servants said to him, “Behold, Haman stands in the court.”

The king said, “Let him come in.” So Haman came in. The king said to him, “What shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor?”

Now Haman said in his heart, “Who would the king delight to honor more than myself?” Haman said to the king, “For the man whom the king delights to honor, let royal clothing be brought which the king uses to wear, and the horse that the king rides on, and on the head of which a crown royal is set. Let the clothing and the horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that they may array the man whom the king delights to honor with them, and have him ride on horseback through the city square, and proclaim before him, ‘Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!’”

10 Then the king said to Haman, “Hurry and take the clothing and the horse, as you have said, and do this for Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king’s gate. Let nothing fail of all that you have spoken.”

11 Then Haman took the clothing and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and had him ride through the city square, and proclaimed before him, “Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!”

12 Mordecai came back to the king’s gate, but Haman hurried to his house, mourning and having his head covered.

13 Haman recounted to Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and Zeresh his wife said to him, “If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him, but you will surely fall before him.”

Our gospel is veiled for who?

Our gospel is veiled for who?

2 Corinthians 4:3-6
New King James Version (NKJV)

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:14
New King James Version (NKJV)

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Paul and Silas Imprisoned

16 Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17 This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.18 And this she did for many days.

But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour. 19 But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities.

Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
