யாக்கோபு தன் தகப்பனுக்கும் தன் தாய்க்கும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, பதான் அராமுக்கு புறப்பட்டுப்போனதையும் ஏசா கண்டதினாலும்,

that Jacob hearkeneth unto his father and unto his mother, and goeth to Padan-Aram —

Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;

Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
