தேவன்மேல் தன்னை ஆணையிடுவித்துக்கொண்ட நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் என்னும் ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணி, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்துக்குத் திரும்பாதபடிக்கு, தன் கழுத்தை அழுத்தமாக்கி, தன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினான்.
