15 不要爱这个世界或世上的东西。如果一个人爱这个世界，他心中就没有对上帝的爱。

10 这是否听起来好象我在企图赢得人类或上帝的赞赏呢？或者我是想要取悦于人呢？如果我是在取悦人的话，我就不是基督的仆人了。

2 过去你们生活在这些罪恶之中，过着世人所过的生活，并且服从这个世界邪恶力量的统治者，就是现在正活动在那些不服从上帝的人之中的那个灵。

1 所以，既然你们与基督一起复活了，就应该努力追求天堂的事情，在那里基督坐在上帝的右侧。

10 因为贪图钱财是万恶之源，有些人在这种欲望中已经背离了信仰，使自己饱尝痛苦。

4 你们这些不忠于上帝的人啊！你们难道不知道，爱这个世界就等于憎恨上帝吗？与这个世界为友的人就是在与上帝为敌。

17 如果有物质财富的人，看到他的穷兄弟缺少东西，却没有怜悯之心，那么怎么能说对上帝的爱活在他心里呢？

5 那些人（假教师）属于这个世界，所以他们所说的也来自这个世界。世人也听他们的。

4 因为每个成为上帝孩子的人都有战胜这个世界的力量。

10 信仰上帝之子的人，就有上帝告诉我们的真理；不相信上帝所说的人，就使上帝成了说谎者。因为他不相信上帝为他的儿子所作的证。
