📖 Where God’s Word Is — There Is Deliverance

Wherever God’s word is, there is definitely deliverance. When the word comes forth, He can change your life, transform sickness, pain, and sorrow — even when the whole world is against you, God is for you so that you can overcome the world. 🙌

Do you remember what we covered three weeks ago? Hearing the word of God. When you hear the word, you become noble, healed, and answered; miracles happen. We have already seen authority over pain, sorrow, and sickness through Jesus. Today we focus on one more thing — the worst fear of all: death.

📢 This is one of the most important topics you rarely hear in churches — yet if you overcome the fear of death, you keep growing and keep overcoming. That is exactly what we see today.

📜 Psalm 90:10 — Is “70–80 Years” Written To You?

Many people quote Psalm 90:10 — a man lives seventy years, or eighty by strength, yet labour and sorrow follow. But the key question: Is that verse written to you? The whole Bible is written for you — but not every verse is written to you. You must interpret to whom it speaks.

“The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet their boast is only labour and sorrow…”Psalm 90:10 (NKJV)

If you believe “seventy, with strength eighty,” then at fifty your body may start ageing, sickness may increase, and you die at seventy — because God cannot bless you more than you believe. Only when your mind is transformed will your life transform. That is why we come to church — nowhere else teaches these things.

📝 Moses wrote Psalm 90 — yet Moses lived to 120 with no sickness at the end. He wrote seventy–eighty under the law, trusting his own strength; later he prophesied something better in Psalm 91. We will return to that.

🔑 Four Truths That Change Everything

Before we finish, grasp these four pillars. If you know them, you understand the whole message:

  1. ☠️ Death is an enemy to God
  2. 👑 We have authority over death
  3. 😈 Death comes from the devil
  4. 📜 The law in the devil’s hand — and Moses’ 70–80 vs God’s long life

1️⃣ Death Is an Enemy to God

Some think God sets your death date, or even kills you to teach you. But Scripture says clearly:

“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”1 Corinthians 15:26 (KJV)

For God, death is the enemy — not His tool. Would you let a snake near your child to train them? Even evil parents want good for their children. How much more your heavenly Father?

God is not a man, that he should lie… hath he said, and shall he not do it?”Numbers 23:19 (KJV) — He does not use His enemy to harm His children.

Wrong thinking ❌Bible truth ✅
God appointed my death dayDeath is God’s enemy
God teaches through accidentsEven worldly parents would not do that
Sickness trains God’s childrenHe wants you free from pain — not in it

2️⃣ We Have Authority over Death

How did death enter? Adam and Eve sinned. When God created them, there was no death. God did not create death — sin brought it. Because Jesus loves you, He came and died on your behalf (For God so loved the world…).

😢 Jesus wept — the shortest verse. He knew He would raise Lazarus — yet He wept for all humanity. God never created human beings to die; death broke His heart.

Romans 5:17 (KJV)

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”Romans 5:17 (KJV)

Death reigns through one man (Adam). Life reigns through another Man — Jesus Christ. By default we are sinners who cannot save ourselves; even a bad thought equals murder in God’s sight. There are 600+ sins — fail one, guilty of all. You cannot overcome death by your obedience. That is why while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

“And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”Hebrews 2:15 (KJV)

Jesus came to restore us from the fear of death. Shall we read together?

“Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.”Romans 6:8 (KJV)

The Bible says we are already dead in Christ. Can you kill a dead dog again? Can you kill a dead animal again? Think for a moment — you cannot. For sin there is death; yet we died with Christ so that death cannot affect us the same way. We live like Him — this is zōē life, the same abundant life we have been learning. If you could overcome death by your obedience, Jesus would not have needed to come.

✝️ Jesus said clearly: “No one takes my life from me — I lay it down.” He wants you and me in the same situation: death must not control us or tell us when we should die; we tell death when it may come.

📖 Bible Examples — Who Had Control over Death?

PersonWhat happened
JesusBowed His head first, then gave up His spirit — no one took His life (John 19:30)
Paul“I have finished my course” — then died (2 Timothy 4:7)
Jesus (John 17:4)“I have finished the work” — death could not come before the work was done
Paul (Philippians 1:23)Chose whether to depart or stay — he chose the timing
Hezekiah, Enoch, Elijah, Lazarus, Dorcas, othersExtended life or resurrection — shadows of authority over death

John 19:30 (KJV)

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”John 19:30 (KJV) — Normally the head falls after death; here Jesus bowed first. He laid down His life — no one killed Him.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.”John 17:4 (KJV)

“For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ…”Philippians 1:23 (KJV) — Paul had two paths: die now or stay. Death did not choose the date — Paul did.

Death should not control us or tell us when we die. We should have authority over death. Because of one man’s disobedience death reigned — because of Jesus, life reigns. These examples are written so we open our minds to the verse.

3️⃣ Death Is from the Devil

Whenever death, pain, or sickness comes, we blame God — but it comes from the devil. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Instead of resisting the devil, we resist God when we blame Him for sickness.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life…”John 10:10 (KJV)

Hebrews 2:14 (KJV)

“…that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”Hebrews 2:14 (KJV)

4️⃣ The Devil Has Zero Power — the Law Is in His Hand

The devil has zero power in himself — like a thin villain with a rifle. The power is in what he holds. What is in his hand? The law.

“The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.”1 Corinthians 15:56 (KJV)

Death → sin → law. To make you sin, the enemy brings the law. The law is the old covenant: “Lord, bless me based on my obedience.” If you say “see my goodness and bless me,” the devil finds one mistake among 600 sins and tells God: “Now you have the right to kill him.”

“And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.”Romans 7:10 (KJV)

“Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.”Romans 4:15 (KJV)

“…for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”2 Corinthians 3:6 (KJV)

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse…”Galatians 3:10 (KJV)

“For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.”Romans 7:5 (KJV)

Christ is the end of the law. When the law goes, sin goes; when sin goes, we have authority over death.

🌿 Moses: 70–80 by Strength → Long Life by God

Moses was in the palace until forty, then forty years in the wilderness, returning at eighty. He wrote Psalm 90 (seventy–eighty) while trusting his own strength — at eighty he said “I have no strength.” Only then did God show His strength and make him leader.

📖 Exodus 7:7; Acts 7:23, 30 — to the wilderness at 40; returned to Egypt at 80. Without Christ, your own strength may reach eighty; with Christ, Moses lived 120 with no sickness, no pain.

Psalm 90 was for people under the law. We are redeemed from the law. The same Moses then prophesied Psalm 91:

“With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”Psalm 91:16 (KJV)Yeshua (salvation) is Jesus. The more you see Jesus, the more long life and satisfaction. No point in long life with sickness and sorrow — God promises long life and satisfaction.

Moses trusted his strength at eighty and wrote seventy–eighty; after transformation he wrote with long life I will satisfy. If you trust the Lord from now, He can change your life from now — not at eighty.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”Psalm 91:1 (KJV) — Jesus is the shadow of the Almighty. Even in Psalm 91:16, salvation in Hebrew is Yeshua. The more you hear about Jesus, the more long life and satisfaction you walk in.

Here God promises everyone seated here: long life — and not long life with sickness, pain, and sorrow, but life where you are satisfied. Moses with his own strength wrote seventy and eighty; with God’s strength he wrote until I am satisfied I will live. 🙌
