Reaping Good Things

Reaping More Wealth

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
New King James Version (NKJV)

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

  • Jesus already made us rich by becoming poor at the cross.
  • Debt was already cleared by Jesus Christ

Want bountiful Wealth?

  • Debt is cleared ( ground is cleared ), now sow bountifully to reap bountifully

Sowing the Word

Mark 4:13-14
New King James Version (NKJV)

13 And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 The sower sows the word.

Reaping Goodness during Resurrection

1 Corinthians 15:42-44
New King James Version (NKJV)

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Reaping is only for Good things

  • No Reaping because of sin in the New Testament ( New Covenant People )
  • Verse 6, 9, 10 Talks about Reaping GOOD , so obviously other two verses should refer to the same Reaping Good ( In its Context )

Galatians 6:6-10
New King James Version (NKJV)

Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Sow to the Spirit

  • Means Hear messages about Jesus, Jesus Goodness, Jesus Sacrifice.. all about Jesus

Result

  • You will start reaping Good things.

Healing by Giving

The lamp of the body is the eye

Matthew 6:19-23
New King James Version (NKJV)

Lay Up Treasures in Heaven

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The Lamp of the Body

22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Hebraism in Eye

  • Single Eye

Singular Eye

Proverbs 22:9
New King James Version (NKJV)

He who has a generous eye will be blessed,
For he gives of his bread to the poor.

  • Your whole body ( Soma ) , full of light

On Giving, Prioritize Believers

Consequence is different from Reaping

John 5:12-14
New King James Version (NKJV)

12 Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” 13 But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”

  • Above verse talks about consequence, not about Reaping
  • Consequence is mostly instance result
  • Reaping is a later result

For New Testament People

  • Jesus is in Mount Zion
  • The moment Jesus was taken as captivity in the garden he set us free
  • Jesus became captive to set us free
  • Jesus sowed and we are reaping

Psalm 126
New King James Version (NKJV)

A Joyful Return to Zion

A Song of Ascents.

126 When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion,
We were like those who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us,
And we are glad.

Bring back our captivity, O Lord,
As the streams in the South.

Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.
He who continually goes forth weeping,
Bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,
Bringing his sheaves with him.

  • Prophets sowed and we are reaping

NOW

  • NOW : People of Jesus times

Luke 6:20-21
New King James Version (NKJV)

20 Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said:

“Blessed are you poor,
For yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
    For you shall be filled.
Blessed are you who weep now,
    For you shall laugh.

For Old Testament People

Hosea 8:7
New King James Version (NKJV)

“They sow the wind,
And reap the whirlwind.
The stalk has no bud;
It shall never produce meal.
If it should produce,
Aliens would swallow it up.

Sour grapes for Generational Curse

Sour Grapes

Jeremiah 31:27-31
New King James Version (NKJV)

27 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast. 28 And it shall come to pass, that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy, and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the Lord. 29 In those days they shall say no more:

‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children’s teeth are set on edge.’

30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity; every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.

A New Covenant

31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—

Jesus received the Generational Curse ( Sour Wine )

John 19:28-30
New King James Version (NKJV)

28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

  • Jesus didn’t receive myrrh and vinegar because it’s like a pain killer
